Antique Hydrangea

As you can imagine... there's nothing like walking through a garden with a friend... and picking foliage to create a stunning arrangement...

It's even better when that friend is P Allen Smith... and you can 'cut what you like' right out of the garden...

This beautiful arrangement is one I created for an upcoming show of P Allen Smith's Garden Style on PBS...

And it features an Incredible Antique Hydrangea from my Friend Ginny at Sun Valley...

P.S. What a stunning focal flower... Love Sun Valley Hydrangea!

Tribal floral 'costumes'

These tribal floral 'costumes' are  authentic floral couture...

We see a lot of attempts at fabricated 'flower couture'... but nothing
compares to the the authentic natural artistry of these beautiful people...

P.S. Authenticity matters... it's undeniable!

"sprung up and burst into bloom"

This perennial native to Europe and Southern Africa, grows from a bulb... it's name is derived from it's star shaped blossoms...

Long lasting... stems bloom for upwards of 3 weeks... blooming from the bottom to top of the stem...

There are 50-300 different varieties... based on flower type, shape and color...

Reported to have "sprung up and burst into bloom" to announce the birth of Christ...

P.S. We call it "Ornithogalum" or Star of Bethlehem...

Beautiful melon and citrus colors...

I love Nasturtium...  the beautiful melon and citrus colors...
and when grown organically... they are completely edible...

There's a farmer at our farmer's market... that sells bags of the blossoms for $1.50...

I always pick up some... they're a great garnish for a cocktail...
and I love to put them on my heirloom tomatoes with burrata and balsamic... they have an amazing mustard like taste...

P.S. What edible flowers do you like to use??
