All dogs are honored #WELOVEDOGS

In Nepal... Dogs are honored in the Annual Kukur Tihar Festival...

The Second day of the festival is dedicated to the Dog!

Once a year they take time to salute the dog and honor them for their service... and not just working dogs but every dog... for the service, love and loyalty they provide to us as humans...

The dogs are decorated with flower garlands... and red or yellow tika is applied to their foreheads...

All dogs are honored... those in service... those that are pets... and even dogs in the street...

Wouldn't you love to sit amongst the Roses??

During one of our Visits to Amsterdam... I ran across these chairs at one of the Rose Breeders...

I think it's fitting that Rose Breeder would have roses
on their dining chairs...

Flower POWER!!

I'm getting such great feedback from the Recipes in my Blog
(Subscribe below)...

So I thought I would sharing this amazing Pork Roast recipe that is enhances with Flowers and Herbs...

Take a Pork Roast- I get mine from a local farmer... Crane Dance Farms!

Place in glass dish... coated with Coconut Oil... I use Fresh pressed...  Fat Side UP!

I sprinkle with Organic Lavender Blossoms and salt and pepper...

Place Sage Leaves (I grow these organically in my garden)... across the top of the pork roast... place about 3 tablespoons of fresh pressed Coconut oil on top of sage leaves..

Arrange springs of Fresh Organic Rosemary on top of the coconut oil...

Place in a 375 oven for about 1 hour... use a meat thermometer and remove when internal temp reaches 145-165... You decide how well done you want your pork!

Remove from oven and allow to rest for 10 minutes... slice and serve!

Not only does it taste delicious... it's aromatic and your house will smell amazing as it cooks..

P.S. I love a flower/herb infused recipe... don't you? Flower POWER!!

Dahlia season here in West Michigan.

It's been an amazing Dahlia season here in West Michigan... with the delay of frost...

So I thought I would show you a fast easy way to make a dahlia arrangement... (you can use other flowers from the garden too)...

Fill your bowl with COLD Water... I prefer water that's actually been in the refrigerator... (or you can add ice)... add Chrysal CVBn Tablets... (I used 3 for this vase as it holds 3 liters of water)... read and measure!

Add stems of greenery... I cut mine in the garden- Lemon Ball, 9 Bark, Scented Geranium... crossing the stems across the wide mouth of the bubble bowl vase..

Next cut and place your 3 largest blossoms in a triangle shape... with the stems crossing... the stems should just touch the bottom of the vase... too long and they may "JUMP OUT"...

Next place 3 more larger blossoms between the other three... again setting the blooms on the edge of the vase...

You can also add other flowers- I included a Ornamental Kale and Hydrangea in this step as well...

Then add in more flowers-... I used different sizes of dahlias to fill in the middle of the arrangement and a few other garden flowers...

Fill in flowers until you are satisfied... remember to enjoy the arranging the process... you're releasing endorphins that cause relaxation and stress to melt away!!!

Place your arrangement where everyone can admire it... or where you see it often... it also might be a great gift!!

P.S. That was easy... and now you'll be arranging like a PRO! Enjoy

"self cleaning" flowers-

Dianthus Barbatus- is a cousin of the flower featured this week on uBloom... (preview this week's show)

Native to Europe and parts of Asia...

Dianthus Barbatus- is a cousin to the carnation Native to Europe and parts of Asia...it's popular as an ornamental garden plant... but this variety is grown as a cut flower!

It appears in botanist John Gerard's Garden Catalogue in 1596...
When grown organically the flowers are edible and are thought to have medicinal properties...

Dense clusters of flowers appear at the top of the stem...

The "Sweet" Varieties from Ball- pictured here... are hybrids that have been 8 years in the making... possessing long stems, "self cleaning" flowers- (meaning old flowers are absorbed... so they remain looking beautiful... )and a wide variety of colors... Including Bi-colors...

Ball Horticulture Company is the breeder of quality cut flowers grown
the world over- Ball technology insures the finest quality for consistently
beautiful cut flowers.  Learn more about Ball cut flower varieties here!

P.S. We call this Flower "Sweet William"... or affectionately...
