(and there's Julianne Moore- wearing a skirt made out of it on the red carpet)...

It's wonderful... and the flowers are big...

Hibiscus anyone???


I saw this on Facebook... from the San Diego Zoo...
The Binturong... or "Bear Cat"... is a carnivore but eats just about anything
it fancies... like Hibiscus Flowers...

The interesting thing about the Binturong... is that they smell like "Buttered Popcorn"... or "Fritos" ... it's a natural thing caused by the oils in their skin...

P.S. I love visiting the Zoo... how about You? Hibiscus anyone???

Spring is about 8 weeks away...


Spring is about 8 weeks away...  and I'm already starting to think about planting my gardens...

This hardy annual is easy to grow... and will brighten up hard to landscape areas...

It also attracts butterflies... and stands up to a light frost...

Also known as the "Treasure Flower"... this one is from the New Day Mix®
a selection that has many different flower types..

Part of the Asteraceae family... 
P.S. We call it the "Gazania"... I gotta get some ... going on the list!!!

"blooming to beat the band".



I just LOVE Amaryllis... they're so fun...

I adore the process of picking out a bulb... choosing a color...
planting...watering and nurturing it along...

I delight in the anticipation as the bulb swells... and the stems start
to shoot up...

This year... I got smaller bulbs and planted them in the faux bois container from Sage & Company...

and now they're all up and "blooming to beat the band"... 

P.S. What's your favorite bulb to force indoors???
