So I shared the DIY Hummingbird bath Tutorial... but it seems that is too deep for bees...

I can't forget about the bees... so this simple DIY Bee Bath...
offers water to Nature's Pollenators... IMPORTANT TOO!

Fill a tray with marbles... and then fill with water... just deep enough that the bees can reach the water from the safety of the marble tops...

Impressive- and simple... ( a fun way to get kids excited about
bees... PLEASE!)

"Seal in the freshness"...

I created this garland out of cuttings from P Allen Smith- Chaste Tree (or Vitex)... along with elaeagnus (Olive Martini)... Rosemary... and of course...

-Gorgeous Pacific Blue Roses... the combination is stunning...

and Allen made this video - sharing the tips for constructing a gorgeous garland like this...

I made this the day before... and glued the roses into place with cold adhesive (rubber cement)... and sprayed it completely with
Chrysal Professional Glory to "seal in the freshness"...

We displayed it on Allen's porch... and I took this picture the day after I created it... shows how well this technique holds up!


P.S. Flower garlands are fun way to bring the garden inside... and decorate with Flowers!

Flower Totems... WOW!!!

On a recent visit to Amsterdam... Kelly and I ran across these amazing Flower Totems...

created from all different varieties of flowers an foliage..

The construction was incredible... Metal poles were
bolted to the board at the bottom... and then foam was mounted
around the poles and secured with anchor tape...

Then the flower placements were added... it was a tremendous display and showcased the flowers so well...

In a Local wholesaler... this common tropical flower is typically
red and has a very recognizable form...

however this variety has a mutation that occurs in the Spadix... that creates a different shape and form...

Snapped this in my garden here in Michigan...

Today's Flower is part of a genus of over 600 species...
including butter cups, spearworts and water crowfoots...

The petals are often lustrous... as evident in this picture...
the plant grows from a node... so are most generally perennial in nature...

The name - means "little frog" in latin... and is thought to be inspired because many species thrive near the water's edge...

Create Flower Sushi... using small blocks of foam...
wrap them with foliage... exposing the top of the foam...

Secure the foam with Decorative wire or pins...
Then fill in the top piece of foam with small flowers...

These Eufloira Spray roses worked well... and accent with
stems, pine needles or other "sushi" like foliage...

The perfect centerpiece for entertaining... #Sushi Style!
