This rare flower has a common name...

and is a member of the Melampyrum species...

Native to the temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere...

This plant is also a hemiparasite... usually obtaining moisture and nutrients from a host plant... although it can survive on it's own as well... 








P.S. This beautiful and rare  flower is called the

 "Cow-wheat"...
