Eriphorum scheuchzeri is a flowering plant that is native to Iceland and other northern hemisphere artic regions...

Sweet tasting... edible and consumed by Muskoxen... the seeds are a favorite of waterfowl...

The white wispy fibers of the flower... are used to create lamp wicks...

The Inuit have interesting names for it... that mean "imitation mittens" and "looks like snow geese"... 






P.S. The common name of this Icelandic Flower is "Cotton Grass"...
