in honor of the Boy's Festival... here's a description...
We eat these Japanese sweets for spring on the Boys’ Festival (tango no sekku) to celebrate the healthy growth of boys. Kashiwamochi (a rice cake rapped with a leaf of Kashiwa). One with green bean paste and red flowers on top is Tsutsuji (azalea), the pink one is the tree peony (botan), and the green piece with azuki beans behind the pink peony is the image of a green leaf in spring.
